Daeun’s holiday story

Yay !!! my hands were up in the air while I was yelling. My brother and I were going to have a sleepover! Saturday to Sunday! Our sleepover was with my friend Jerome and my brother’s best friend Martin. When they picked us up we first decided we were going to go to Jump but when we got there.There were so many people it felt like there were millions there so we didn’t want to go when it was so busy so we suggested we could go to Extreme entertainment. Jerome,Martin,my brother and I argued with each other in the car. We were arguing about whether we should go to Extreme entertainment. Now or at night time. Jerome and I wanted to go at night but my brother and Martin wanted to go NOW!!! So we had to persuade Min (brother)and Martin to go at night. Finally they agreed We then went to Jerome’s house. The first thing we did was play wii (a sports games) Next we decided what we could do’ we thought about playing Mine craft. After Mine craft we went to Extreme entertainment.When we got to Extreme we first went on the bumpy bumper cars. Bump! Bump! Bump! went my car. Then we played bowling and I won! I was so happy . My score was 98,Jerome’s was 90,my brother’s was 68 and my brother’s friend was 60. Then we went home We brushed our teeth,we watched some T.V and at last we went to sleep. The next day we got ready for church. When Jerome and I got to church  we did some singing in korean and then some working in small groups about god. sadly Min and I had to go home. My Dad started the engine and the engine went Broom! Broom! My brother and I went happily home.

Rishap’s holiday story

It was an exciting day. It was my sister’s birthday. My mum, my dad and I made a birthday card for her while she was sleeping. My friend came over and knocked  on the door I opened the door he bought a necklace as a gift for my sister. My sister’s friend came over with a gift for her and a card.The gift was a green and purple handbag.My friend and I woke her up,my dad made pizza. It smelled delicious and he also bought KFC. Every one said surprise high pitched and loudly like a girl. My sister opened her gift and the card, we ate the food it was so yummy. She had the best day ever in her life.

Obstacle Course with our little friends

Today we had a visit from 10 little people from Bear Park.  Ashita and Billie ran a couple of sports activities for them to try helped by Mitchell and Daeun.  The little people had a great time crawling through tunnels trying obstacles and throwing bean bags into a bucket.  It was great to share our games with others and has taught us heaps about how to modify small activities for a variety of ages.

Arias Holiday story

               

I peeked through the sliding glass door. I could see Azariah’s lounge room. She opened the door and led me to her amazing room. I put my stuff next to her bed, I was there for a sleepover. We went outside and played a game of master, it was a lot of fun. Then we went back on inside and went on our tablets, after playing games and watching videos. Then we played blind mans bluff. We had to get dressed,ready for bed at six 6:00 and have dinner. We had pizza for dinner it was delicious. After that we went  back into Azariah’s room and played some games then we had to go to bed. In the morning we had left over pizza for breakfast. After that we went to the dentist for Azariahs sisters appointment. Then I got dropped of I had a lot of fun at their house.

Shohei's holiday story

Shohei’s amazing holiday story

My body was numb and my hands were much pinker than usual.

It was freezing cold at Paradise Iceskating. My mum gave us the skating shoes, they were bit of a pain to get on but I managed to fit my feet into them.

I carefully walked towards the ice. It felt weird walking in the skates, they had sharp blades on the bottom that were making my feet wobble.

The ice  was slippery, I was able to stand up then all of a sudden I lost my balance I slipped and landed on my bottom. My big brother helped me get up. It hurt a little and made my bottom really cold. When I was skating I slipped again and hit my knee so hard that it hurt. It took me a few times to learn how to stay on my feet.

While I was skating my mum was helping my little brother because he was slipping all the time. When I was tired I went to the bench to rest and I ate a cupcake and some crackers.

After we had finished skating we went outside. There was a big pile of ice it had come from the truck that smooths the ice. We threw the ice at each other, it was awesome.       By Shohei

Ashita's Holiday Fun

As I was playing with my friends I overheard my mum and dad saying that, my five friends and I could go to the movies,

to watch Inside out. It was the second week of my happy holidays. We were going to go to the movies the next day (Wednesday).

On Wednesday the train we were catching was supposed to leave at 1:30 but instead it went at 1:40 and we got to the cinemas by 2:00. Luckily the movie didn’t start until 2:15 so we had time to get all of the drinks, the food, the tickets and get to cinema number 5. I got coke and a medium size box of popcorn to share with my friend Anjika. When the movie was finished our friend Anubha (who is 16) gave us ice cream. When I got home I did my studies, including Kumon maths reading booklets and I also wrote a short story about the movies.

Izzi's Volcano experiment

Today Izzi shared with us her volcano kit.

She completed the experiment and we watched the chemical reaction.  As she was doing it, we noticed a few things and we have some questions.

Izzi used bicarbonate of soda, citric acid, food colouring, water and lava foam to create the chemical reaction.

We noticed:

• It looks like foam
• it was fizzy
• it looked like a milk shake
• there was a chemical reaction
• when we crushed up the lava bombs the reaction was much more noticeable (Rico and Jacob thought this was because the liquid had more lava bomb that it was touching so it was able to react with more and this created a bigger reaction, they said that when it was a solid lava bomb it was just reacting with the outside)

We wonder:

• Why do these reactions happen?
• Why was the reaction different both times?
• How does the water help the reaction work?
• Why was the reaction slower?
• What is real lava made out of?
